After my last update to my front cover I was very dissapointed with my project especially my front cover so I decided to restart my whole design process. Initially I began to look my different magazines that I could base my magazine on, and I found a few, most of the magazines I found were alternative magazines, apart from the Rap Up magazine which I decided to study on because of the strong male and female diversity that they cover in their issues.
Pop (Pussy Riot issue)

I was introduced to Pop by a friend a few days ago and the issue that I was shown was the issue about Pussy Riot, and the first thing that struck my mind was the simplicity of the magazine front cover and yet it still seemed to yell and convey attentiveness at a very professional and high quality level. I can use this research when creating my new front cover perhaps I can place my cover image in a shape and keep the rest of the page plain.
Jalouse (Asap Rocky and Azealia Banks)

Jalouse is a French magazine that I stumbled across when I was searching for alternative magazines to base my front cover off, and immediately i was struck by how the publishers had released an issue with both Asap Rocky and Azealia Banks, two artist of different genders that I was basing my star image on; this then made me remember that my magazine was suppose to be aimed at a male and female audience meaning I had to keep my cover uni sex instead if predominantly male or predominantly female. Jalouse had been able to tackle this by realsing two versions of the same magazine with opposite genders as the coverstars thereby informing and making a statement that it is not a gender locked magazine, I can possibly try this tactic but I may not since it implies twice the work (hehe :) ) but I will defiantly remember this when creating my new front cover and not to create a cover predominantly one gender like my previous front cover.
Rap Up ( Rick Ross and Ciara)

I stumbled on to these issue of Rap Up because it was very similar to the issue of Jalouse I had mentioned above, it seemed that the publishers had the same idea of releasing two different versions of the same issue, but that's not what I like about this magazine. I really like the conventions used in this magazine, I like the variety in fonts, fonts sizes and font colours in these magazine, they just make the page pop I also like the use of the little star shapes on the pages they seem like a great way to fill the empty spots on the page, I also like the use of a star puff on the page, this makes me confident in including a puff on my front page. I will like to follow the conventions that this magazine has set, that consists of the uses of fonts, colours, shapes and puffs in a very sleek and professional looking way.
